A Prayer for our Samoan People..

Today is a sad day for our Samoan People.. earlier today, a powerful earthquake hit between American Samoa and Samoa.. not long after that, a tsunami wave hit both Samoas. My Dad is in American Samoa.. he was in Hawaii for the weekend for a family funeral. It took about 6 hours to get a hold of him.. but was finally able to through the great service of Allen Fuimaono of Fagasa.

Devastation has hit both Samoa's hard. Our hearts and prayers go out to those who have lost loved ones.. Currently, in American Samoa.. the death toll is nearing 30. The hardest hit areas are Leone and Pago Pago. There are reported deaths in Leone, Pago Pago, Asili, and Poloa. In Samoa.. there are reports of villages being leveled.. a couple of them being Ailepata, Fautasi and Lalomalu and its neighboring villages have been devastated.

Please.. join me in saying a prayer for those who have lost their lives in this devastation.. and those who are still waiting to hear back from loved ones:

Heavenly Father,

We pray that you would protect your people in Samoa and in Hawaii. While there has been some structural damage and there have been lives lost on the American Samoa island, none of this is far from your hand of restoration. I pray that you would restore the damaged portions of the island to better than they were before. Breathe life into that which was claimed for dead. Regenerate the faith of those who may be losing their faith right now. Be a comforter to those who have lost their loved ones. Be an encourager to those who are in Hawaii hoping for the best, but preparing themselves for the worst. I pray that they would fear nothing and be anxious about nothing, but in everything, through prayer and supplication, let their request be made known unto you and may you, the God of peace, keep them in perfect peace and safety. You are the God of all creation. Rest, rule, and abide in the hearts of the people that they may fear no evil, nor natural disaster than threatens to come upon them. Heal your land. May all hearts turn toward you in prayer.

In Jesus' Name,

Amen

Orem 9th Young Men/Women

A few weeks ago.. my sister had asked me to come take pictures of Orem 9ths Young Women get ready for the Stake Homecoming Dance.. being that this might be one of the few occasions that I'll see my niece Tisha dress up and get all dolled up for a dance.. I said yes! It was great to see the Young Women leaders and moms help get the girls ready.. albeit some unwilling (Tisha and Nikki).. they looked beautiful. As the gents came to the door.. that awkward moment of meeting your date for the first time was very cute. Here are a few from that day. Thank you Orem 9th Young Women Leaders and mommas for letting me hang out with you that Saturday!
